According to DevaCurl, over 65% of the population has curly or wavy hair. The attractiveness of curly hair is proven by this statistic alone. Curly haired people have been attracting mates every since the first curly hair spring out of the first round head countless generations ago. Ever since then, curly haired people have been making babies at a record pace. It’s a wonder that there are any straight haired people in existence at all. The question then becomes: Why is curly hair so attractive? In my opinion, curly hair is attractive because it is spontaneous and unpredictable. There is something beautiful about it’s independence. Your curls will not conform to societal pressure and they will not acquiesce to any attempts to tame them. Sure, you can temporarily straighten your curls with a flat iron and you can straighten your waves with a blow dryer and brush, but the next time you get your hair wet it will spring back curly again. Naturally curly hair defies every attempt to change it. If you are really desperate, you can go so for as to straighten your curls with a chemical relaxer, but even that won’t stop the curls from growing out of your scalp and making a mockery of your attempts to tame it. Curly hair is playful and fun. It can’t be easily controlled and it is different every day. This is part of it’s appeal. Conformity is boring and curly hair is definitely not boring. Curly and wavy hair is completely uninhibited by societal pressure. Your curls will laugh in your face when you try to change them and they will declare themselves a wild force of nature. This is hot! And that is why so many people want to make babies with people with curly hair.
